9. Why use the QuickPAD IR?

1.Can families use the QuickPAD IR?
Yes! Families with one home computer and several enthusiastic users face a similar dilemma to schools with overcrowded labs. Whether it's a report for the office or a writing assignment for school, everyone in the family can use the QuickPAD IR to get the job done.
2.Can students access each other's folder?
No. Each of the 10 folders is password protected.
3.How can the QuickPAD IR be used outside of school?
Libraries are allowing patrons to check out the QuickPAD IR just as they would a book. Library patrons can sign out the unit to take home or for use in the library. Teachers and students find the QuickPAD IR invaluable for data gathering, surveys, and reporting on field trips. Teachers use the QuickPAD IR for professional development opportunities such as off-site conferences, meetings, and training sessions.
4.How do I manage a classroom set of 30 QuickPAD IRs?
With a classroom set of 30 QuickPAD IRs on a cart, teachers can number each unit 1-30 and assign a unit number to each student in the class. Because the QuickPAD IR can store up to 10 password-protected folders, 10 different students can save their work on one QuickPAD IR unit. Teachers can have up to 300 students make use of a Classroom set of 30 QuickPAD IR units.
5.How do I transfer text from the QuickPAD IR to a PC or Macintosh?
Once you have entered your work into the QuickPAD IR, you simply open a blank page from any text-based application (MS Word, Word Perfect, Student Center, etc.) on your PC or Macintosh computer. Point the QuickPAD IR to the infrared receiver (pod) - included at no additional cost - and press the "send file" key. Text is then transferred wirelessly to the infrared receiver connected to the keyboard port on your computer.
6.How much text can the QuickPAD IR hold?
The QuickPAD IR can hold up to 70 pages of text in its memory.
7.Is the QuickPAD IR durable?
Yes! The QuickPAD IR has no moving parts so it can withstand any mishandling and dropping. The unit consists of one circuit board, the screen and keyboard.

9.Why use the QuickPAD IR?
QuickPAD IR is an excellent solution for schools struggling with overcrowded computer labs and the high cost of laptops. By using the QuickPAD IR for writing assignments, note taking, and keyboarding lessons, schools can ease student demand on computer labs and reduce the need for purchasing more expensive computers. Presently, many professionals such as teachers, social workers, college deans, physicians, counselors, magazine and newspaper reporters, and probation officers utilize the QuickPAD IR. These professionals find they don't need to duplicate their desktop computer's functionality with an expensive laptop when all they really need is a word processor. The QuickPAD IR is lighter than a laptop, won't break if dropped, and is much less expensive to replace if lost or stolen.
